Midway University Launches Three New Academic Programs: Data Science, Exercise Science, and Supply Chain Management

Midway, KY (02/05/2025) — Midway University is excited to announce the introduction of three new academic programs for the upcoming academic year: Data Science, Exercise Science, and Supply Chain Management. These undergraduate programs are designed to meet the evolving needs of the job market and provide students with the skills necessary to excel in their respective fields.

The Bachelor of Science in Data Science program, a STEM major, will equip students with essential knowledge in data analytics, statistical methods, and programming. As businesses increasingly rely on data-driven decision-making, graduates of this program will be prepared for a wide range of career opportunities in various sectors, including technology, finance, healthcare, and more.

In addition, the Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science program will focus on the scientific principles of physical activity and wellness, preparing students for careers in fitness, rehabilitation, and health promotion. This program will cover topics such as exercise physiology, biomechanics, and nutrition, empowering students to make a positive impact on individual and community health.

The Bachelor of Science in Supply Chain Management program will equip students with the essential knowledge and skills needed to effectively manage and optimize the flow of goods, services, information, and finances throughout the entire supply chain, a field that is critical to many of Kentucky's manufacturers and industries.

Dr. Timothy Campbell, Vice President of Academic Affairs at Midway University, stated, "We continue to expand our academic offerings with the addition of these programs. Data Science is an increasingly critical field, and we are proud to offer a STEM major that will prepare our students for the future. Likewise, the Exercise Science program aligns with our commitment to health and wellness, equipping students with the skills they need to promote healthy lifestyles in their communities. And Supply Chain Management has so many applications it will allow our students to work in many different sectors."
