Midway University Welcomes Tate Russell to Board of Trustees

Midway, KY (11/18/2025) — Midway University is pleased to announce that Tate Russell, President of Kentucky Eagle, Inc., has joined its Board of Trustees.

A graduate of the University of Mississippi, Russell began her career with Anheuser-Busch on the Special Event Traveling Team before returning home to Lexington to join Kentucky Eagle, her family's third-generation beverage distribution company. Over 15 years, she worked in every area of the business before becoming President in 2018.

Kentucky Eagle employs more than 200 team members and services 18 counties through its malt division-representing brands such as Anheuser-Busch, Yuengling, New Belgium, and Sierra Nevada-and the entire state through its wine and spirits division, which includes the Sazerac portfolio. Together, the company serves more than 4,200 customers across Kentucky.

Russell also serves on the Eastern Kentucky Business Advisory Council and the Board of Directors for Downtown Lexington Partnership. Outside of her professional work, she spends time at her family's central Kentucky farm, where she rides and trains her off-the-track Thoroughbred in Hunters.

"We are honored to welcome Tate Russell to the Midway University Board of Trustees," said Board Chair Donna Campbell '62. "Her leadership, business expertise, and strong commitment to Kentucky will bring valuable insight to our work as we continue advancing the mission of the University."
